Gettin’ Groggy in Tryon, NC

TRYON, NC – A beautiful little town that sits in the woods on the North/South Carolina border, a great
place to spend a summer evening! Start at “The Bottle”, where you won’t have a problem finding a great beer or wine! I seek out darker beers, so I tried the St Bernardus Quadrupel. It was excellent!

Let’s talk QUAD!! A quadruple is a strong Belgium ale that is rich in flavor and alcohol content. This is a
dark and decadent sipping beer best served in a heavier glass cup or goblet to bring out the caramel and
fruit flavors. I best like to have this beer with a light charcuterie board OR as a desert because it is
sweet. Everyone’s taste a different though, and you can drink a quad with whatever you want… but be
careful, this medieval grog will hit you like Lancelot’s sword after just one!
The Bottle – A bottle and wine shop in Tryon, NC. This versatile beer and wine shop has a great vibe, in
an old historic building. Shop around for a bottle of wine, a glass of wine or beer or something else such
as a mango peach mimosa. The Bottle hosts a wine tasting every Friday night 5-7pm. There is also a
small bakery, but I suggest you grab a bag of toasted garlic croutons and some pimento cheese, take a
glass of wine and sit outside to people watch, you will surely strike up a conversation with someone
nearby! My favorite part was the “beer room” in the back, with a huge selection of craft beers (6 packs
and individual available) so you can customize your own 6 pack for a discount. Take 6 new beers home
to try later! There is something for everyone here, even cigars (yuck!) and you can take your open
beverage with you as you walk through downtown Tryon. www.tryonbottle.com
